Management Team

	Steven Masters; President and Plant Manager. For over 35 years, Steven has contributed his machining and business acumen to the Masters team. He worked in the plant during his summer vacations while attending high school, Southern Maine Technical College and the University of Southern Maine. He was a screw machine operator on Davenports and Wickmans while also learning the complexities of running a business in a very competitive global industry prior to taking on his current role as Plant Manager in 1996.
	Jason Masters; Director of Operations. After graduating from Hamilton College in New York in 1996, Jason worked in Mexico City, Mexico and Beijing, China for over seven years before returning to Maine to work at Masters Machine Company in 2004. Jason programmed, setup and operated CNC equipment later assuming a supervisory role in the Swiss Cell. In 2012, Jason and his team led Masters through the process of obtaining our aerospace AS9100 certification and he is now the AS9100 Management Representative and ITAR Compliance Officer.
	Rodney Waltz; Quality Manager. Rodney started with Masters Machine over 30 years ago as a screw machine operator moving to the quality department as a Calibration Tech in 1998 before taking over as Quality Manager in 1999. He is an ASQ Certified Auditor, Quality Technician and Senior Member. Prior to Masters Machine, Rodney served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed across the U.S. and in England.
	Ryan Cushman; Director of Quality & Engineering. Ryan is a 2002 Mechanical Engineering Technology graduate from the University of Maine. After several years holding various engineering roles with both ZF Lemforder Corporation and General Electric, Ryan joined the Masters team in 2012. He is also a Certified 6 Sigma Black Belt.
	Debra Stacy; CFO/HR Manager. Debra brings over 30 years accounting experience working for global companies in the Chemical Manufacturing, Aerospace & Defense, Oil & Gas and Automotive industries. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix.
	Richard C. Masters; President (Retired). Richard has been with the company since 1958 beginning as a machine operator, moving up to department supervisor and then plant manager before taking over as president when his father, the original owner retired in 1981. Under Richard’s strong leadership, the company has grown from just 3 employees in the beginning to 100 employees currently; working three shifts, seven days a week.
	George Masters, Jr.; Vice-President (Retired). George joined his father and brother in 1976 overseeing engineering and manufacturing activities for the company. George has been instrumental in diversifying our equipment capabilities with new machine tool purchases and upgrades to meet the increasing demands from our customers. He has an M.A. in Math from the University of Maine.

Our History

Masters Machine Company first opened its doors in 1957 in an old schoolhouse in the seaside village of Round Pond, Maine.

It was founded by George Masters, Sr., a skilled machinist and graduate of the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. George and his three employees set out with a simple goal in mind: to supply quality precision machined products to local companies.

geosr4 Today the company has moved to a more spacious and modern facility in Round Pond. We have expanded our markets throughout the U.S. and beyond, while maintaining relationships with most of our original accounts.

Nearly 60 years later the company continues to grow under the leadership of George’s sons: Richard, President, and George, Jr. as Vice President and the 3rd generation of Masters: Steven, Plant Manager and Jason, AS9100 Management Representative.

Quality

In August 2012, Masters Machine Company attained its AS9100 and ISO-9001 registration. This has been instrumental in Masters maintaining its high standards of quality, consistency and excellence. We are very proud of our registration for it is the backbone of our quality department and the essence of providing outstanding service to our customer base.

We adhere to AS9100 and ISO-9001 requirements by complying with annual audits performed by our registrar National Quality Assurance, USA. Internal audits are performed on a regular basis to ensure that all provisions of the standard are being met.

In process inspections are performed on all products and SPC charts are provided as required by the customer. Masters Machine Quality Department complies with PPAP requirements and AS9102 (Revision B) FAI standards.
