Design for Manufacturability
Masters Machine Company assists customers with product design utilizing Esprit, an intelligent cloud-enabled CAD/CAM software.
This software has accurate G-code, full machine simulation, synchronization & optimization with one user interface capability. It's compatible with most 3D modeling software.
We provide assistance with machining and operation sequencing, fixturing design and cycle time calculations.
Alibre Design Software is used to generate internal drawings and to convert customer models for programming of CNC equipment.
Packaging Design
We work with a local Maine supplier to design packaging for the safe handling and shipping of sensitive product.
We develop this packaging using CAD design to calculate the size of the part with standard box sizes while choosing the right insert materials.
Once part quantities are established, we work with the customer to order the box quantity increments that maximizes the packaging and reduces costs per part.
Equipment Design
Our engineering department designs and builds in-house inspection equipment. In addition, they also modify equipment to better utilize machining capability.
Inspection equipment is designed to verify critical characteristics using Cognex cameras. Real-time data collection is stored for easy retrieval when requested by the customer.
Our new Omni-cell design has provided a single flow machining process with an automatic inspection station added at the end of the line.
Component specific part conveyors are designed to protect parts from external damage after machining.
Tool Making
Need to get a product to market quicker? Our in-house tooling experts work closely with production, engineering and quality teams to design and produce tooling that provides our machinists with accurate, close tolerance tools in a variety of configurations.
Tool Making
Masters Machine Company designs and produces in-house specialized tooling including form tools, drills, reamers, counterbores, dove tail cutters, circular cutoffs, end mills and step drills.
This reduces tooling costs to the customer and affords improved lead times on production.
Helitronic Tool Studio software combines flexibility and productivity in tool design and is used exclusively with our Walter Helitronic CNC Tool & Cutter Grinder.

Customer Account Executives are available to work with you in designing a system that will assist in inventory reductions and just in time delivery.
Bar code technology is used on our internal routers for live tracking of product.
Advanced Product Quality Planning Meetings (APQP) are held with customers on new programs to identify all aspects of a component prior to launch including special characteristics, packaging and SOP, PPAP or FAI requirements.
For our New England customer base, we have a company truck that makes deliveries more convenient and reduces shipping costs.
Continual Improvement
We take our responsibility with the AS9100 and ISO-9001 registration seriously and a major component of that is a management commitment to continually improving our business operations. Several tools are used in this endeavor including AS9100 and customer external audits, internal and work station audits and lean practices.
